Q&A: Ask a Small Business Owner {New Series}

I Need Your Questions

For over two years now, The Gnarly Whale has been a huge part of what I do. For the past year, it’s been a huge part of what Nathan and I do. It’s the reason we are both able to work from home, the reason we are both able to work for ourselves, the reason we bought a house with a shop on the land, and the reason that we are able to live the life that we do. Thinking that through, it’s crazy and really amazing to see how far we’ve come from when I first dove into self-employment with no plan in place.

That being said, I feel like I have something to offer other people. Be it my personal story for inspiration, advice so you don’t make my same mistakes, or even just someone that’s “been there, done that.” I’m no expert, so I definitely don’t have all the answers. But I do have some. And the rest, I probably at least have an opinion on.

So I’m looking for your questions. Anything related to owning a small business goes. So far, the ideas I’ve gotten from some wonderful people on social media include:

  • how to drive more traffic to your shop
  • how to attract buyers/repeat customers
  • how did you know what your shop would focus on
  • how to market your business via social media

I have plans to answer each and every one of these through this series, but if you have any other questions – I would absolutely love to hear them! Feel free to leave them in the comments if you’d like them answered in this series or if you’d prefer for me to answer any questions via email, you are more than welcome to email me, too. I may not always respond as quickly as I’d like, but I’ll get to it, I promise!
