You can never have too much holiday decor, right? Especially Halloween decor. As much as I was a little bit slow to decorate this year, our house is filled with Halloween decor now. I even added the spooky flamingos (the fun orange and black ones) into our potted plants that we had to move indoors for the winter.

While I’m pretty smitten with those flamingos, I’ve actually got a really fun DIY for you today.

These Halloween Boo Blocks are pretty easy to put together and they can be completely customized to match your home or the rest of your Halloween decor. They’re also a great indoor Halloween decorating idea that can be used year after year.

Halloween Boo Blocks DIY Supplies

Most of the supplies we used we had on hand, but Amazon is a great place to grab the supplies that you don’t have.

For the blocks, we used approximately 4″ blocks like these with a larger one for the B block. You can make yours any size you’d like and/or they can be the same size, too.

Halloween Boo Blocks DIY Steps

I made these as an indoor Halloween craft, but you can use them outside if you’d like. If you’d like to use them outside, I would recommend that you seal them with an outdoor, water-resistant sealant.

If your blocks are already sanded and set to go, skip to the painting part. If you’re cutting it from wood to be the size you’d like, make sure to sand all sides and edges to be smooth before you paint them.

Paint your blocks. We used purple spray paint, but you can use any color you’d like. You can also hand paint them if you’d prefer. Whichever method you use, be sure to allow the paint to dry completely.

Use the blocks as a guide and trace the block on the back side of the scrapbook paper. Try to get it as close as you can so it’s the same size as the block. Cut along the lines so the scrapbook paper size matches the block. Trim if necessary. Repeat for each block.

Cover the back of the scrapbook paper with Mod Podge, place it on the face of the block (Mod Podge side down), and press down. Smooth out and wipe away any excess Mod Podge that may seep out. Allow the Mod Podge to dry completely. Repeat for each block.

Apply the sticker letter to the scrapbook paper on the block and brush the surface of everything with the Mod Podge. Repeat for each block. Allow the blocks to dry completely.

Add any embellishments and display.
