Most of you know we own an indie bath and body shop. It’s been around since 2012, but even before that, I was involved in the handmade community. I love supporting family businesses, local farmers, and indie crafters. All of these makers care more about every single product that goes out the door than any big box stores cares about the thousands, or even millions, that exits theirs.
So when I was introduced to Indie Do Good, I was smitten.
Before I dive into all the goodness that Indie Do Good brings, I want to talk about the Maker’s Movement. You might know it as the handcrafted or handmade community. Or the Indie Movement. Or maybe you’re just familiar with the idea of shopping local. It’s all the same.
It’s all about celebrating the artists, inventors, designers and engineers that go against mass commerce. This movement encourages growth and knowledge sharing amongst independent artists in order to help everyone thrive. It motivates people to give back while finding fulfillment.
Considering 75% of consumers that are ages 22-36 consider it very important to support brands that give back to society, and 37% of those same consumers are more likely to buy items that are associated with particular causes, this is a big deal. Our younger generation is looking for innovation and that’s a GOOD thing!
Indie Do Good brings these consumers and makers together in one amazing place. Every purchase on IndieDoGood.com includes a 5% donation of the total purchase price to your favorite charity. So not only are you purchasing high quality, well-cared for creations – you’re also giving back. And every time you’re enjoying your purchase, you can think of the good you’re doing for the world and knowing that you’re inspiring an innovator.

Up until the beginning of this year, I had NO CLUE what Pickleball was. Turns out, I’m not alone. It’s one of the world’s fastest growing sports that few people have heard of. The only reason I was introduced to it was because a few courts were built in our small town last year.
This is a super fun sport that I would consider to be a mix of tennis, table tennis, badminton, and racquetball with a unique spin on all of it. It’s fun for people ages eight to eighty and IndieDoGood.com has plenty of equipment for you to give it a try.
