Nineteen 10 Minute or Less Mood Boosters

Good moods don’t come naturally to me. I’m not saying that bad moods do either, but staying in a good mood from the time I wake up to the time I crawl back into bed isn’t something that just happens. I have to work to make it happen. Whether it’s thinking happy thoughts, eating the right foods, making sure I’m not spending too much time on the couch, etc – I try to do things each and every day to make sure I stay in the best mood possible. And because I think happiness should always be contagious, I thought I’d share some quick and easy mood boosters!

  1. Get some sunlight. Can’t get outdoors? Eat or read near a window.
  2. Go for a ten minute walk
  3. Sing out-loud to your favorite song
  4. Write a thank you card or letter to someone
  5. Cross something simple off your to-do list
  6. Look at photos from a vacation or special event
  7. Play with a pet
  8. Smell a relaxing scent
  9. Give someone a hug or hold their hand
  10. Dance to your favorite song
  11. Eat your favorite fruit
  12. Write down at least five things you’re grateful for
  13. Enjoy a daydream about your next vacation
  14. Do a good deed for someone else
  15. Organize something
  16. Watch a video or read a story that makes you laugh or smile
  17. Meditate
  18. Indulge in a bit of chocolate
  19. Stretch
