The middle of August pretty much begins my favorite time (pretty much a whole quarter) of the year. That’s when back to school starts, then it leads to Fall and an abundance of pumpkin everything, then Halloween and extra decorating, on to Thanksgiving and Christmas and then birthdays begin in January. But back to where it begins: back to school and back to the dorm room.

I’m not even in school anymore, but I absolutely love back to school time. I’m an office store junkie and this is the perfect time to stock up on all of those supplies! Plus, all of the new styles that launch for dorm living are great for organizing our house and changing up the decor without emptying our wallets.

So today, I thought I’d share some ideas for styling your dorm, your apartment, or in my case – even your house around back to school time!

Wall Art: I’m a sucker for inspiring wall art. It’s a great way to brighten up a room and add a little bit of fun without taking up space. A must-have for any small room, dorm, or apartment!

Mugs: I can’t think of many days where I haven’t used my coffee mug for some sort of coffee or tea drink. Perfect for the late nights studying or working.

Bright Bedding: I think bedding is one of the easiest ways to showcase your personality without spending a fortune or taking up even more room. With so many different color combos and design options, it’s such a simple way to add something that’s specially catered to your design preferences.

Comfy Pillows: Another great way to showcase your personality while making your couch and/or bed extra cozy. Great conversation starter if you get some super fun ones, too!

Desk Organizer: Desk space has always been limited for me. The bigger the desk, the more I’d find to put on it. So an organizer is huge! Keep all of your newly purchased school/office supplies organized in one of these.

Lamp: I suffer from insomnia at times and I hate bothering anyone else just because I can’t sleep so a small lamp is perfect. Whether I’m working, reading, or even grabbing a small snack – I love having a low-light lamp for those moments.

Storage: Space is huge for us as we like to keep our house as open as possible, so I know it’s an even bigger deal in a tiny apartment or dorm. I love suitcases like this because you can organize them, stack them, and grab whichever one you need when you need it. Whether it’s clothes, accessories, make-up, entertainment, etc – finding the right storage is a big deal!

Photo Album: It doesn’t matter to me where you live or how old you are, but photo albums are awesome ways to keep your friends and family close even if you’re truly miles apart. Love this camera one!

Rug: Rugs are an amazing addition to any room. By the door, on the side of the bed, by your desk, by your closet – you name it, I think there’s a need for a rug. Especially if you have hardwood floors or carpet that’s lost it’s cushion.
