Pizzas are one of our go-to weeknight meals in this house. It’s a meal we can all easily agree on and it makes busy nights feel a little less hectic.
But I know it’s usually not the most healthy meal so we try not to indulge in it too often. And when we do, I try to sneak in some veggies or healthier toppings with a lighter crust so it’s not just a carb-loaded grease bomb.
Usually those things require us to make pizza, which doesn’t always qualify as a quick weeknight meal then. So I was really excited when I found out one of my favorite brands had some ahhhmazing pizza options.
I’ve talked about how much we love the Sweet Earth breakfast burritos before, but their pizzas? They’re even better!
We tried out three of their pizza flavors:
- Herb Lover’s 5 Cheese Pizza: a delicious cheese blend with an herb pesto sauce and a rosemary herb crust.
- Protein Lover’s Pizza: a vegan meat based pizza with a roasted bell peppers and a zesty marinara sauce.
- Veggie Lover’s Pizza: a unique veggie loaded pizza with a crust that includes cornmeal, carrot, and chia.
I was the most skeptical about the Protein Lover’s and Veggie Lover’s Pizzas. Faux meats can be so hit or miss with their texture and matching my favorite pizza flavors is a pretty tall order. And the veggie one… well, I’m not a veggie pizza person in general, but I was willing to try it out.
Let’s just say both blew me away.
Not only did the vegan meat on the Sweet Earth Protein Lover’s pizza have a decent texture, it also truly reminded me of pepperoni and sausage pizza. And the crust was SO good. I loved the addition of quinoa, chia seeds, and flax seeds in it! This was truly a pizza I had pretty low expectations for and it went well beyond what I could have anticipated for it.
As for the Sweet Earth Veggie Lover’s pizza, who knew veggie pizza could be so good?! The corn and brussel sprouts were the veggies I was most unsure of, but they actually really worked well with the other flavors. And the crust had a fantastic flavor that I’d totally have with pretty much every pizza.
I would absolutely recommend any one of these pizzas for a unique, easy weeknight meal that’s packed with protein and fiber.
I’d also suggest checking out all of the other entrees Sweet Earth has to offer. When it comes to mindful eating, I love what they stand for. Their food is delicious and fueled by plant-based protein so their products always make me feel good about the food I’m eating.
